Early orthodontic treatment is highly recommended as it reduces the need for extractions, jaw surgery and having to obtain space due to crowding.  Early treatment can mean superior results, which are highly stable. 

We always check for the development of third molars (wisdom teeth).  It is far better if the extractions occur between the ages of 18-26 due to superior healing.  We also provide sealants to children’s’ permanent teeth to prevent decay.

Root Canals
One thing that Dr. Scherer has learned over the years is that many patients are nervous about root canal therapy.  Fortunately, Endodontic Therapy usually involves little or no discomfort.  In fact, the discomfort that caused you to need root canal therapy is the only discomfort involved; and that discomfort is relieved by the therapy.  During root canal therapy, damaged tissue from inside the tooth is removed, eliminating whatever discomfort you may have been feeling.  Modern root canals are usually finished in a single visit and save teeth that would otherwise need to be extracted.  Even though it may be scary, you can relax.  Keep in mind you are is gentle hands; Dr. Scherer has over 25 years of experience.  His goal is to keep your natural teeth for a lifetime.
