Dr. Scherer was born in Bellevue,
Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1974.
He served in the United States Air Force as a dentist; rank of
Captain; stationed at Kincheloe Air Force Base in Northern Michigan. Dr. Scherer's
wife Mary is a dental hygienist in the family practice and also graduated from
Ohio State University.
Together they have four children;
Kara who graduated from Detroit Mercy College of Dentistry in 2003; Lindsay
who graduated in 2003 from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee,
WI; John Ross who graduated in May 2007 from the University of Rochester School
of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester New York. John Ross is in his third year
of medical residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Hospital-McGaw Medical
Center in downtown Chicago. Ashleigh is a 2007 graduate of the University of
Detroit Mercy for dental hygiene and is currently practicing in our dental practice.
